Severn Glocon has announced it is the first organisation in Britain to achieve PED/PER compliance, linked with an approval ISO 9001 2000 Quality Management System. The British Standards Institute (BSI) has confirmed that from its client base for all pressure equipment manufacturers and utilities, Severn Glocon is the only organisation to have achieved this successful double. Nigel Clark, Severn Group Quality Manager, explained: “Severn Glocon is now able to offer valves and accessories that are CE-marked and in full compliance with Category lll, Module H of the PED 97/23/EC. This qualification applies to all current ranges of Severn Glocon products and satisfies the UK statutory instrument (PER 1999:2000) which becomes mandatory within the EC on 29 May 2002. “Furthermore, Severn Glocon’s Quality Management System (QMS) has been recently assessed and approved to the new QMS standard ISO 9001 2000.”
