Mott MacDonald has been appointed to lead a consortium that will provide design, construction supervision and management consultancy services on a major sewerage and waste management project in India. The State Investment Project Management and Implementation Unit (SIPMIU) of Shillong, the capital City of Meghalaya has commissioned Mott MacDonald for this important urban development project which is aimed at improving the environment and well-being of Shillong city dwellers. Mott MacDonald will help SIPMIU by providing all technical and management consultancy services needed throughout the project design and construction phases. This will range from data collection and conducted geotechnical surveys to detailed engineering design, cost consultancy, technical procurement advice and construction supervision to compliance and handing over of assets. With a capital value of around INR 2100 million, the project is due for completion in 2015.
