SITRANS VP300 intelligent valve positioners

The new SITRANS VP300 intelligent valve positioners from Siemens incorporate the 2007 Nobel Price winning Giant Magneto Resistance effect. It also features SIL-certified partial stroke testing for linear and rotary actuators to ensure emergency shutdown valves are movable during an emergency. The GMR technology is used for noncontact position sensing of a linear or rotary valve shaft. This eliminates any mechanical wear or complex interaction of couplings and levers between components. The VP300 requires only a single magnet for strokes to 150mm or rotary angles up to 120 degrees. With GMR technology this positioner is less sensitive to vibration with accuracy and less wear benefits. The SITRANS VP300 features an aluminum housing with high IP66/NEMA 4X protection. It’s applicable over -40C to +85C.
