Sonatrach has announced plans to upgrade and modernize the Skikda Refinery in northeast Algeria. The project is part of Sonatrach’s plan to increase its refining capacity by more than 80,000bpd. SWI Valve Co. Ltd will supply 24 metal seated ball valves. The valves are 14in (DN350) CL600#; are designed according to API6D/ISO 14313 / ASME B16.34; and are metal seated, bubble tight, Zero Leakage, and Certified Firesafe. Once completed, the upgrade project will increase the refinery’s capacity by 3 million tns/yr taking it to 18 million tns/yr.
