Shipham Valves has successfully supplied swing check and gate valves in nickel aluminium bronze materials for the sea water fire fighting ring main on the on-shore phases 6, 7 and 8 of the giant South Pars gas field development in Iran. The underground gate valves, in sizes up to 32’’ and ANSI 300 ratings, are supplied complete with large extensions and pedestals to allow uniform operation above ground. South Pars gas field is situated on the Iran – Qatar median line in the Persian Gulf. The field lies in waters covering 3,700km2 with gas in place reserves estimated at 464Tcf which equates to 8% of total world reserves. The processing plant is designed to produce 2800MSCFD of dry sour gas, 3.7 million tpd of LPG and 122,000bpd of condensate. The gas will be transported by the IGAT-5 pipeline to the Agharaji oilfield for re-injection. The contract was awarded by the joint-venture TIJD main contractor.
