Special Metals announces new executive appointment

Special Metals Welding Products Company, formerly Inco Alloys International, Inc. announces the following organizational changes.
Director Sales and Marketing, Mr. Deryk Webster. Deryk’s 23 year career in the welding supplies industry began in 1979 with Oerlikon Welding, a leading European based welding consumables manufacturer. A Chartered Engineer with a formal education in Metallurgy he subsequently held positions Technical Services, Product and Commercial management. Deryk was appointed General Manager of Oerlikon Welding¹s UK business in 1990 remaining with Oerlikon until joining Inco Alloys Welding Products Company in February 1979 as Commercial Manager for the European Region. In the newly created position of Director of Sales and Marketing Deryk will be responsible for creating and leading a global organization and to ensure
appropriate focus of the company¹s worldwide sales and marketing activities.

Global Marketing Manager, Mr. Jim Walker. Jim is a Professional Engineer who trained and worked as a Metallurgist with Bonney Forge International and Babcock & Wilcox in the U.K between 1971-82
before joining the Welding Manufacturing Industry with Phillips Welding. He has since held positions as Welding Engineer, Product Manager, Sales Manager and Marketing Manager with Phillips Welding, Esab Group, and Oerlikon Welding respectively before joining Inco Alloys International Welding Products Company in 1997 as European Marketing Manager. In his new role Jim will continue to be based at the companies European Office in the U.K. and managing the global activities with colleagues at the company headquarters in Newton, North Carolina.
Both of these positions will report to recently appointed General Manager of Welding Products Company, Dr. Jesse Chen. Dr. Chen is a Fellow of ASM and has held a number of technical and management positions with multinationals including CBI, Cabot, FMC, and Ingersoll Rand. Most recently, he was Chairman and General Manager of Ingersoll Rand¹s bearing operation in China, the Torrington Wuxi Bearings Company.
