SPX® FLOW has announced the release of the new CU4plus control unit for its next-generation APV® / Waukesha Cherry Burrell® D4 Series double seat mix-proof valve. With fully integrated seat lift detection, the new control unit combined with the state-of-the-art D4 Series hygienic valve is one of the most sophisticated and reliable valve solutions available.
The CU4plus control unit uses an innovative design with completely internal sensors to detect all critical valve positions, so the electronics are secure from damage during handling and wash down. For rapid commissioning, the unit incorporates the proven ‘Teach-in’ function, which enables the reliable set-up of valve position and feedback with the push of just one button. Its high-resolution, integrated measuring system ensures accurate and reliable control, while an advanced toolkit provides the ability to monitor valve parameters including the number of open/close cycles, strokes, operating hours, feedback position trends and power status.
Based on proven CU4 Series technology, the new control unit offers chemically resistant, high strength construction with ultra-bright LEDs for clear indication of valve position, power and solenoid activation. Its accurate and reliable control is provided by a high-resolution, contact-free measuring system.
The new control unit utilizes the AS-i bus protocol and is suitable for all D4 Series valve types. It can also be retrofitted to existing D4 installations. SPX FLOW additionally offers a straightforward upgrade insert to change from the previous generation DA3+ to DA4 Series technology, which can now also incorporate the CU4plus control top.
