New ATEX approved flameproof solenoid operator with 316L stainless steel or cast iron enclosures have been introduced by ASCO/JOUCOMATIC. Classified as II 2 G/D EEx d IIC T6..T4, it is especially suited for applications in the offshore market where high levels of safety and superior resistance to corrosion are required. The housing and cover of the enclosure have a choice of 316L stainless steel and zinc plated epoxy coated cast iron. Any EEx d approved cable entry device can be supplied and the operator can be rotated 360° to select the most favourable position for cable entry. Installation of the “WSNF” or “NL” operator on a large variety of ASCO/JOUCOMATIC solenoid valves is possible, from simple direct operated 2-way shut-off types to more complex pilot valves for safety applications. Low power consumption versions are available in every AC and DC voltage. Furthermore, H-classification for high ambient temperature as well as peak voltage suppression are optional.
