Karmen Castmetals (a division of Karmen International Pvt. Ltd) has commissioned its steel and alloy steel foundry in Chennai, India. The plant is equipped with a fully automatic fast loop no-bake moulding line supplied by Italy-based IMF, with a mould size of 1800 x 1400. The plant can handle a single piece weight of 550kgs and has a total capacity of 500tns/mth. TUV Nord has certified the new foundry to ISO 9001 and PED. Karmen Castmetals offers full NDT capability with ASNT Level III certified personnel. A full range of carbon steel, alloy steel, low temperature steels, stainless steels including duplex grades will be produced. Karmen Castmetals intends to focus on the valve and pump industry and can also supply fully machined castings and precision components through its Engineering Division, which is equipped with the latest CNC Horizontal and Vertical machining centers.
