STP supported by AUMA’s modular solution

The Środa Śląska, sewage treatment plant in Poland has undergone a major modernisation programme aided by AUMA’s modular electric actuators. It is the first Polish STP installation to use the company’s new generation actuator range.

Expansion of the Środa Śląska wastewater treatment plant has included upgrades of the biological and sludge processes. AUMA’s Generation .2 AUMATIC AC 01.2 actuators in Profibus DP version were selected to automate essential valve controls at the scheme.

AUMA reports that the installation is part of widespread international adoption of its Generation .2 product series. Benefits of the actuators that were introduced in 2010 include improved positioning accuracy, enhanced output speed range and extended life. These advancements are backed by improved corrosion protection. Compatibility with the company’s existing products through modular design is also seen as advantageous by end users.

Having supplied actuation solutions to the water industry for five decades AUMA has an extensive portfolio of commissions across potable and non-potable applications with a growing installation base in Poland, as illustrated by the Środa Śląska STP.
