Subsea 7 has announced that it will be responsible for the management, engineering, procurement and installation of a seven kilometre flexible flowline on an existing pipeline between the Byggve and Hemidal fields. The contract will also cover the installation of a seven kilometre umbilical between the Atla Production Guide Base and the Byggve PGB, as well as survey activities, tie-in and precommissioning activities and other associated services.
The Atla field, formerly known as the David field, is located 20km northeast of the Heimdal field. Subsea 7 said it would start engineering and project management work immediately, with offshore operations due to start in the second quarter of 2012.
