SWI supplies valves for Skikda Project

South Korea-based SWI Valve Co. Ltd has been awarded by Samsung Engineering to supply valves for Skikda Refinery Renovation Project in northeast Algeria. Valves that SWI are contracted for range up to 14in and class 600# in metal seated zero leakage configurations. The project is part of Sonatrach Group’s plan to increase its refining capacity by more than 80,000bpd, which includes distillation unit and the aromatic facilities of each Isomerate, Para‐ Zylene, and Benzene unit. When this upgrade and modernization of refinery is completed, it will increase the refinery’s capacity by 3 million t/y taking it to 18 million t/y. The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2012.
