TECHNIP has won from BP the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Shah Deniz offshore production and drilling facilities, located some 80km offshore in the Caspian Sea. The Shah Deniz project is an important development for BP, its Partners and for Azerbaijan, as the first stage in securing production of a large gas asset in the Caspian Sea. The design study, which will be handled by TECHNIP’s Upstream Division in Paris, will be based on TECHNIP’s proprietary TPG 500 concept – a self-installing fixed platform that has already been successfully installed and used in the North Sea. The FEED is to be completed within the 4Q this year and will provide to BP and its Partners in Shah Deniz an optimum solution for the offshore component of the project.
