Advanced Solution Engineering Ltd (Cambridge, UK) has developed an online service for the calculation of bolted gasketed joints according to the new European standard EN 1591. The service, called iSpac, also includes a set of databases for the geometry and materials definition of the components of a flanged joint. This version permits the analysis of the mechanical behaviour of bolted assemblies to evaluate their strength through the application of plastic criteria and to calculate the leakage flow through the joint by the application of various leak-tightness rules (including PVRC). The iSpac service works on a subscription basis.
