Chicago Bridge & Iron has awarded purchase orders to the specialist manufacturer Truflo Rona to equip the Golden Pass LNG terminal with a complete package of actuated and manual cryogenic valves. The Golden Pass LNG terminal site is located 10mi south of Port Arthur, Texas and 2mi NW of Sabine Pass. It is bounded by wetlands abutting Texas Highway 87 to the west and south, and the Sabine-Neches Waterway (Port Arthur Ship Channel) to the east and north. The terminal facility is located in Jefferson County, Texas with a pipeline to be constructed to the north allowing connections into existing intrastate and interstate pipelines. The Golden Pass LNG project plans to import LNG to provide approximately two billion cubic feet per day (BCFD) of natural gas to help meet growing Texas and US natural gas demand. This project has a proposed start-up of 2009. CB&I has been awarded a contract by Golden Pass LNG Terminal LLC for the engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction of the LNG terminal. The award is valued in excess of USD 1 billion.
