The gas pipeline and processing plant project is being worked out within the Tunisian Ministry of Industry and Technology as its investment is high and its importance so strategic for the Tunisia hydrocarbons’ sector. With an investment so far estimated at USD 672 million, Tunisia is planning to build a 315km gas pipeline which would connect Ghedamess basin gas fields to the region of Gabes. The project investment should be secured by a consortium including all those who operate gas concessions in the region. This new gas pipeline that will parallel, on the same site, the existing one in the region should be completed by the building of a processing unit at Gabes which will separate the dry gas that will feed the distribution network of Tunisian Co. of Electricity and Gas and LPG which will be bottled.
