Tyco meets oil giant’s need for speed

Tyco Valves & Controls has won a race against downtime by supplying Czechoslovakian oil giant Ceska Rafinerska with a special order for safety relief equipment, manufactured and delivered in just 11 weeks. Ceska Rafinerska is the largest crude oil processing company in the Czech Republic and is a joint venture between Czech-based Unipetrol and major internationals AGIP, Shell and Conoco. The 70 Sempell S-Series safety valves to API 526 and ten 8” x 10” ‘T’-orifice valves which make up the GBP 100,000 order, all manufactured to API 526, have been installed in various parts of the company’s Litvinov oil refining complex as part of its safety enhancement programme. Providing protection for tanks and pipelines at various pressure levels on hydrocarbon service, all the Sempell valves meet the certified Czech TI pressure requirements.
