Asahi/America Inc. has launched its new locking handle for their Type 21 ball valves. The pad-lockable handle directly replaces the standard valve handle and acts as a deterrent to prevent unauthorized cycling of the valve. The new design allows the handle to serve as a position indicator, demonstrating the current state of the valve. The handle also doubles as a carrier removal tool, used for valve maintenance and adjustments. The locking handle is available as an option for Asahi’s Type 21 Ball valve sizes 1/2in – 4in. Sold in “kit” form, the handle permits field installation on new or existing Type 21 ball valves. No tools are required for sizes 1/2in – 2in and a #2 Philips head screwdriver is the only tool needed for installation of sizes 2 1/2in – 4in.
