Asahi/America’s new Type 21 ball valves feature a pad-lockable handle that directly replaces the standard valve handle and acts as a deterrent to prevent unauthorized cycling of the valve. The new design allows the handle to serve as a position indicator, demonstrating the current state of the valve. The handle also doubles as a carrier removal tool, used for valve maintenance and adjustments. The locking handle is available as an option for Asahi’s Type 21 ball valve sizes 1/2in to 4in. Sold in “kit” form, the handle enables field installation on new or existing Type 21 ball valves. No tools are required for sizes 1/2in to 2in and a #2 Philips screwdriver is the only tool needed for installation of sizes 2.5in to 4in.
