The Valvcon™ Quarterback™ QB-series is a new electric actuator from Valmet engineered with an integrated mechanical spring back-up for quarter-turn applications. It’s designed to drive valves and dampers to a predefined fail position after a loss of external power. In turn, this aids in protecting the process and equipment.
In many quarter-turn applications, spring-return actuator solutions can be large and heavy, and may limit configuration choices after installation. The Valvcon QB-series provides a more compact option by supporting common installation requirements through multi-voltage input power, on/off or position control, and a field-reversible spring-release direction.
It accepts 115 VAC, 230 VAC (50/60 Hz, 1PH), and 24 VDC power as standard. It can be configured for on/off control or modulating operation, depending on the application.
