Valve for all temperatures

An extended bonnet globe control valve which is designed to operate in applications where temperatures are in the cryogenic range (down to –268ºC), is one of a range of control valves available from Pump Engineering Ltd. Body and bonnet materials are 316 stainless steel with Monel, Hastelloy C or ASTM equivalent available as options. The RC260 Badger Meter Reco valve, which is available in bonnet lengths from 14″ up to 60″, for either ¼” to 1″ process line sizes, is designed for control of extremely cold or hot fluids and gases, for example in industrial processes involving liquid nitrogen, liquid hydrogen and CO2. In cryogenic applications, the 14″ bonnet design of this valve allows the standard PTFE packing area to be used, as well as allowing room for insulation around the valve body and bonnet and so facilitates cold box mounting. Alternatively, a casing flange is available, should sealing around a cold box be required. Other versions are available which enable easy removal of the inner-valve and seat from outside the cold box. In hot applications, the extended bonnet also permits the standard PTFE packing to be isolated, which is therefore protected from extreme temperatures. There is a choice of pneumatic actuators or positioners, air-to-open (ATO) or air-to-close (ATC) in die cast aluminium, with 316L stainless steel as an option. Electric actuators and positioners can also be supplied if air is not available.
