Toyo Engineering Corporation (TEC) has been awarded a contract for the world’s largest ethylene oxide (EO) and ethylene glycol (EG) plant with the capacity of EG 630,000 MTPA in May 2002. This plant is to be constructed in Al-Jubail Industrial City on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia by Jubail United Petrochemical Company (UNITED), a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). TEC’s scope of work of the contract includes engineering, procurement of equipment and materials, and construction of the plant on a lump-sum turn-key contract basis. OMB scope of supply includes forged steel gate, globe and check valves to API602 in a wide range of ratings and materials. The plant is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2004.
