A recent order for 150 3" butterfly valves from Advanced Valve Technology (AVT) based in the UK, will be used for Salt Separation Services (SSS). The order, for SSS for water treatment units for Royal Navy ships, provides 3 valves per set for a total of 50 sets for construction of the units and then onward shipment to the Royal Navy. The application is a potable water application with chemical dosing of "water from a foreign source " to ensure it is safe to drink, using Chlorine (1part per million). Daniel Shackleton at SSS said he selected AVT on the basis of "low magnetic signature," and the internal & external corrosion resistance of the valve.
