Exida, an accredited global certification company, has certified the Velan Torqseal™ triple-offset butterfly valve for functional integrity, ensuring that it meets the functional safety requirements for Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 capable per IEC 61508. “A Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) was performed on the Torqseal family of valves, which confirmed their suitability for use in safety applications,” said Evaluating Assessor Chris O’Brien.
