Weir unveils next-generation SPM® 2.0 valves

Following two years of research and more than USD 1M investment in advanced engineering and comprehensive testing, Weir’s Oil & Gas division has unveiled new SPM® 2.0 valve and seat for well stimulation pumps used in shale plays.

Designed and manufactured from premium-grade materials and processes, the SPM® 2.0 valve and seat encompasses a one-piece, patents-pending design, proprietary polymers, and innovative geometry – all of which work together to produce longest-lasting expendables.

longest-lasting expendables

Validated through extensive testing to perform two times longer, the SPM® 2.0 valve and seat is a vital component in helping oil and gas companies maximise their return on investment by delivering longer operational service life and increasing pumping hours. Benefits of bonded SPM® 2.0 valves include: improved performance, increased resistance to abrasion, flow extrusion and flow erosion. The molding movement, leakage and separation from the value is eliminated.

The SPM® 2.0 valve and seat is designed and manufactured in-house to sustain rigid quality control standards.
