Willbros Group, Inc. has announced that the Oman Construction Company, its operating unit in Oman, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for multiple pipelines in the Lekhwair field area to be installed for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). The project is for five 16-inch pipelines totalling 88 km in length. Work is expected to begin immediately on engineering and procurement activities, with the construction activities starting in early 2004. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2004.
In addition, Willbros’ operating unit in Nigeria, Willbros West Africa, has signed a letter of intent with Addax Petroleum Development, a contractor to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, for an EPC contract for the installation of shallow water platforms and four pipelines. Together, these two EPC projects amount to more than USD 40 million in awards.
