Wood Group GTS wins turbine maintenance contract

Wood Group GTS has secured a multi-million dollar, five-year contract from Talisman Sinopec Energy UK to provide turbine maintenance support services for 22 Siemens Ruston gas turbines operating on the Buchan, Clyde, Tartan and Flotta installations in the North Sea. Effective from November 2013, the contract comprises TB5000, TB5400 and TD4000 gas turbine models.

Wood Group GTS’s scope of work includes contract management services, preventive maintenance scheduling and execution, 24/7 technical support, unplanned breakdown support, and engine supply and overhaul services.

This contract follows a 10-year turbine fleet maintenance contract between Wood Group GTS and Talisman Sinopec Energy UK that concludes in 2013, and marks an important milestone in the relationship between the two companies.

Iain Murray, president of Oil, Gas and Industrial Services for Wood Group GTS, said, “This is a very positive step in strengthening our long-term relationship with Talisman Sinopec Energy UK. We share their goal of a zero incident safety and environmental performance and look forward to helping optimise their maintenance strategy for this gas turbine fleet and further enhancing their overall asset performance.”
