Woodward’s shutoff valve gets exida certification

The Woodward, Inc.’s LSOV25 liquid fuel shutoff valve has received exida certification for functional safety. exida ensures that the application used in process industries meet the functional safety requirements for Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 capability per IEC 61508: 2010.

“Woodward has a strong development process which is necessary to achieve this high level of design quality needed for functional safety,” says Chris O’Brien, exida evaluating assessor. “An extensive certification process that included a Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) and complete IEC 61508 safety case was completed reaffirming their capabilities.”
