Worcester and Norbro achieve SIL 3

Worcester valves and Norbro actuators from Flowserve Flow Control have received third-party approval to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) rating 3 from BASEEFA under the IEC616508 safety systems standard. The standard requires all safety critical systems to carry a SIL rating. These run from SIL 1 (low risk plant) to SIL 4 (high risk plant). The SIL 3 rating is the maximum obtainable for an individual valve or actuator.
