The whole range of Mondeo Valves Idrja and Small non-return valves has obtained WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) certification, required in the United Kingdom for all materials and components used to transport drinking water. This certification defines the criteria and test methods applicable to material and products that come into contact with drinking water to ensure that they do not modify the characteristics (smell, taste, colour) of the water and that they do not release substances or allow bacteria to spread.
Manufactured items used in drinking water distribution systems, for example, hydraulic valves installed in systems that distribute water that is also for human consumption, have to satisfy some particularly exacting requirements, and that’s how it should be because people’s health comes into play.
As the standard on which WRAS certification is based calls for items to pass very rigorous tests, it can be considered as a guarantee of safety and quality globally, and not just as an opening for product diffusion in the British market.
From the smallest to the biggest non-return valves: the whole range of stainless steel valves is now WRAS approved.
Mondeo Valves wanted all its Idrja and Small non-return valves, made of AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel, to be certified. Even though initially for the intermediate range, certification was recently extended also to the smaller and larger valves.
