Neway Valve produced a globe type control valve

Recently, Neway Valve produced a globe type control valve with labyrinth trim for a 600,000-ton synthetic ammonia unit. The cage of this 3” class 1500 control valve is produced by 3D printing technology. This marks the first time Neway Valve has applied 3D printing technology to an actual order.

The medium for this device is synthetic gas, with a large pressure difference on both ends of the valve and severe erosion. The device uses labyrinth sleeve internals, in this way, the flow rate of the medium can be greatly reduced, the noise passing through the valve can be lower and the service life of the valve can be improved.

If the labyrinth sleeve is manufactured by traditional processes, it would require multiple processes such as EDM, welding, heat treatment, and machining, these processes taking at least one month to complete. While using 3D printing technology, only three processes—3D printing, heat treatment, and machining—are needed, reducing the manufacturing time to less than 15 days and significantly improving manufacturing efficiency.

With its unique manufacturing method, 3D printing technology is revolutionizing the design and manufacturing of valve components.
