Trillium Flow Technologies Hiller’s 60th anniversary

With decades of OEM experience in the commercial nuclear power generation industry, Hiller is renowned globally for high-quality valve actuation products and support services. The brand’s nuclear industry-focused team designs, manufactures, and services products for all pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and electric actuation applications.

Founded by Ralph A. Hiller in 1950 as a distributor for multiple fluid power products, Hiller designed its first valve actuation products in 1962. From 1966, its actuators were supplied for use in commercial nuclear power plants.

In 1972, the brand’s Main Steam Isolation Valve (MSIV) actuator was successfully tested by the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEEE). Further testing for the 38-inch MSIV actuator followed in 1976.

In the 2000s, Hiller achieved qualifications for its Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) and NGC and NGP product ranges.

When Trillium Flow Technologies was founded in 2019, Hiller became an official part of the Trillium Flow Technologies family of legacy brands.

Based in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA, Hiller products include LP/LH linear pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, NGP/NGH 1/4-turn pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, and NGC gas-charged hydraulic actuators, which are typically used for main steam isolation and main feedwater isolation valves.
