Rotork secures FPSO actuation contract

Rotork has won the actuation contract for multiple automated valves for critical topside equipment applications on a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) under construction in China for a South American oil company.

hydraulic actuatorsThe order from COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard is for 188 certified CP, GP, GH and RH range pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, for installation on gas compression modules. Five automated valve packages consist of pneumatic and hydraulic shutdown ESD ball valves, on-off ball and butterfly valves and blowdown ball valves, handling hydrocarbon gas, liquid chemicals and seawater.

Close co-ordination between Rotork offices in Brazil and China enabled the company to identify and propose a robust and efficient solution to the demands of the applications, using proven heavy-duty modular products including compact CP actuators specially designed for smaller valves.

Rotork’s long term relationship with the end user and the high level of local support from Rotork that COSCO has experienced in China also made important contributions to the award of the contract.
