AVK introduced the AVK knife gate valves in a new design that enables users to replace the upper packing material without dismantling the valve from the pipe system. Furthermore, a major advantage is the possibility of replacing the packing material on the rising stem type without disassembling the stem from the gate. This design eases the maintenance significantly.
The packing gland consists of a NBR packing and a PTFE packing on each side of the gate. With this construction, the NBR packing, which ensures a drop tight seal from inside and out, is protected by the PTFE material.
