Babcock Valves’ advanced testing for Nuclear Industry

Continuing their collaboration with the Spanish Nuclear Industry, Babcock Valves unveils their latest offering: the DN80 (3″) Bolted Bonnet Wedge Gate Valve. This valve is meticulously crafted to meet the exacting standards of ANSI Class 900#, utilizing ASME SA216 WCB material. Its design adheres strictly to ASME Section III Class 1 standards, guaranteeing unmatched quality and reliability.

Engineered to accommodate a Limitorque Electric Actuator SMB-00 (10#), the valve is optimized for peak performance and seamless integration. As part of its final quality assurance stages, the valve undergoes a comprehensive Hydrotest on specialized test benches. This rigorous testing process begins with an initial hydrotest to assess the valve’s performance under pressure. Subsequently, the valve is disassembled to scrutinize the impact of pressure on the packing, with particular attention to the integrity of the stuffing box packing rings. Only after confirming that the packing rings remain flawless is the valve reassembled and subjected to a second hydrotest to ensure it meets the stringent standards of performance and safety.

This meticulous testing approach underscores Babcock Valves’ unwavering commitment to delivering top-tier products tailored to the exacting demands of the nuclear industry.
