    Saipem to standardise on SmartPlant technology

    Saipem – an engineering, procurement, project management, and construction company – has chosen to standardise on Intergraph SmartPlant and SmartMarine Enterprise engineering solutions. The agreement includes Intergraph’s next-generation 3D design software Smart 3D.

    Maire subsidiary to implement ROG in Belgium

    Maire Tecnimont’s subsidiary KT – Kinetics Technology has been awarded two contracts by Total Olefins Antwerpen (Total Group) for the implementation of the Refinery Off Gas project (ROG) at Total’s Antwerp refinery in Belgium.

    Aquaterra Energy wins DONG Energy contract

    Specialist Subsea Services acquires 2 new ROVs

    Specialist Subsea Services (S3) purchased two new ROVs from FMC Technologies Schilling Robotics. The acquisitions, worth in excess of GBP 4,000,000, form part of the company’s ambitious global growth plans and bring the total number of work class ROVs within S3’s fleet to six.

    BorgWarner completes Gustav Wahler acquisition

    Global powertrain supplier BorgWarner finalised its acquisition of Gustav Wahler & Co. A producer of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves and tubes and engine thermostats for on- and off-road applications, Wahler’s customers include leading automotive manufacturers from around the world.

    Bumi Armada receives LOI for FPSO from eni

    Malaysia-based international offshore oilfield services provider, Bumi Armada Berhad received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from eni Angola, a wholly owned subsidiary of eni, the Italian multinational oil and gas company.

    Yamal LNG, Fluxys ink LNG transshipment agreement

    Yamal LNG and Fluxys have signed an agreement outlining the parameters of cooperation on the transshipment of LNG supplied from an LNG plant on the Yamal Peninsula (Russia) to Fluxys’ LNG terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium.

    Econosto is new SFC distributor in the Middle East

    Smith Flow Control (SFC) signed a new distributor agreement with Econosto to provide technical and commercial support locally in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Egypt.

    Maersk Drilling takes delivery of new jack-up rig

    Maersk Drilling has taken delivery of its first ultra-harsh environment jack-up, Maersk Intrepid, from the Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore on time. Maersk Intrepid will start its mobilisation to the Norwegian North Sea in approximately two weeks, where it will commence a four-year contract with Total E&P Norge AS.

    Type K assists compliance with environmental legislatio

    Environmental legislation demands ever stricter efficiency and control of emissions from industrial boilers, furnaces and other power plant processes. For example, in the USA the Environmental Protection Agency has recently introduced the MACT (Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology) Rule requiring operators to carry out tune-up procedures either annually or bi-annually, affecting an estimated 14,316 boilers and process heaters, whilst other nations’ legislation is equally onerous.
