McDermott JV wins export fabrication work

McDermott International’s joint venture company, Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Offshore Engineering Co. (QMW), in Qingdao China, has been awarded a contract by Jord Oil & Gas Systems for process module fabrication work.

PD&MS, Harlen invest in new engineering facility

International engineering company PD&MS Energy and specialist fabrication and engineering firm Harlen have committed GBP 2.5M of investment towards a new rig-repair and sub-sea fabrication facility in one of Scotland’s premier ports.

Valtorc introduces sanitary 12″ butterfly valve

Valtorc launched sanitary high-performance 316 butterfly valve series for the sanitary and fine chemical fields. The valves incorporate an advanced design and are offered in sizes up to 12" in manual or actuated packages.

Statoil awarded exploration block offshore Myanmar

Together with partner ConocoPhillips, Statoil has been awarded a deep-water exploration block in the Myanmar waters of Bay of Bengal. Block AD-10 covers more than 9,000km2, and is located 200km from the coast in water depths of approximately 2,000m.

Chevron expands in offshore Myanmar

Chevron Corporation’s Myanmar subsidiary, Unocal Myanmar Offshore Co., has been granted exploration rights in a block located offshore Myanmar, in the Rakhine basin. Block A5 spans more than 10,600km2, and is located approximately 200km northwest of Yangon.

Maersk Drilling names 1st of 4 jack-up rigs

In a ceremony held at the Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore, Karen Tiffen, wife of Martin Tiffen, managing director of Total E&P Norge, named the ultra-harsh environment jack-up rig ‘Maersk Intrepid’ in the presence of the guest of honour Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport in Singapore.
