Oilex awarded two petroleum exploration permits

Two applications for contiguous gazettal blocks L12-08 and L12-09 by Oilex’s wholly owned subsidiary, Admiral Oil NL, have been approved by the Government of Western Australia Department of Mines and Petroleum.

SSP releases new 40 series ball valves

SSP added the newest line of 40 Series Ball Valves to its growing FloLok brand line of valves. The first sizes available will be the FloLok 41, 42 and 43 series valves, with end connections from 1/16” to 3/8”, as well as in corresponding metric sizes.

Foster Wheeler receives contract for boiler island

A subsidiary of Foster Wheeler’s Global Power Group has been contracted by Elektrobudowa to design, supply and erect a 50MWe (gross megawatt electric) circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boiler island for the Tychy Heat and Power Station in Poland owned by TAURON Polska Energia.

COOPER Valves acquires Accuseal

Cooper Valves has acquired Accuseal, the manufacturer of severe-service metal-seated ball valves. The acquisition will strengthen Cooper Valves’ position within the severe-service valve market. Accuseal will conduct future business as a brand of Cooper Valves under the name Cooper Accuseal.

Chesterton’s seal material for hydraulic systems

Chesterton has developed a differentiated thermoset polyurethane seal material designed for use in hydraulic systems using ethylene glycol fluids (HFC hydraulic fluids).  The International Organization for Standardization Classification defines ISO HFC, or a water-glycol hydraulic fluid, as a fire-resistant hydraulic fluid consisting of water and glycol.

Rotork Gears completes landmark contract

Rotork Gears, the valve gearbox and valve accessory division in the Rotork group of flow control businesses, has successfully completed a landmark contract in the history of the Chinese subsea valve industry.

Metso wins order for intelligent valve controllers

Metso will supply intelligent valve controllers from Sino-Venezuela Guangdong Petrochemical Company for its 20M tons per year, heavy crude processing project. The preliminary estimated quantity is over 4,000 units, including the ND7000 series standard, intrinsically safe, and explosion-proof models.

Single-Stage Couplings for Measurement Systems

Micro-Vu designs and manufactures a broad range of non-contact measuring machines including automated vision systems, manual video systems and optical comparators. These devices are used to inspect a wide variety of materials, parts and assemblies from sheet metal and injected plastics to O-rings and PCBs.

Celebrating 90 years of Mapag®

newsitemStephanie Gorgs reports... On October 1 2013, Metso celebrated 90 years of success for its Mapag product brand of valves at the Metso Valve Technology Center in Horgau, Germany. On arrival, guests were invited to tour the factory (incidentally, one of the largest employers in the region) and see for themselves how the Mapag butterfly valves are engineered and built. Valve World was also invited to attend, and took the opportunity to speak to many of the Metso representatives (please see the video interviews below). A key message we heard throughout the day was just how much customers value the Mapag products.

EDC awarded multi-year contract for jack-up rigs

BKE Shelf, a subsidiary of Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC), the onshore and offshore drilling service provider in the CIS, won a three-year contract for the provision and management of jack-up rigs NEPTUNE and MERCURY in the Cheleken Contract Area, Turkmenistan in the CaspianSea for Dragon Oil, an international independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company.
