There are numerous process applications where precise control of low flow rates is critical, for example in pilot plant control, dosing, vending or flavour flow control and these are ideal situations for the Badger Meter RCV807 control valve. This valve, which is now available as a manually operated version, is part of the extensive range of control valves available from Pump Engineering. The RCV807 valve, which is designed for handling liquids and gases under the most arduous conditions, is available as a globe or angle pattern in either 0.25 or 0.5in sizes. Its compact size and 33 different trim sizes, Cv range from 0.0000018 to 2.5 and rangeability from 50:1 to 15:1, makes it an ideal choice for additive injection, sampling and pH control.
The valve can operate at pressures up to 5000lb/in2 and temperatures ranging from -80 to +500C. They can be supplied as standard in 316 stainless steel with stainless steel or Stellite trims, although alternative materials such as Monel, Hastelloy B and C, titanium and zirconium, can also be specified. Standard packing is TFE chevron rings with graphite, while Grafoil or Kevlar are also offered as options. The RCV807 valve can be supplied with pneumatic actuators or positioners, air-to-open (ATO) or air-to-close (ATC) in die cast aluminium, with 316L stainless steel as an option. Electric actuators and positioners can also be supplied if air is not available. Typical applications will occur in snack flavouring, petroleum refining, chemical processing, manufacture of synthetic fuels, lubricants and in one particular unusual application, helping to control the metering of perfumes into disposable nappies.
