A subminiature magnetically latched solenoid valve, ideal for applications demanding a compact, ultra low power consumption and low heat generating valve, is now available from Lee Products. Typical applications include battery powered pneumatic instruments such as portable oxygen delivery systems, environmental gas samplers and other OEM applications requiring a reliable bistable switching device. The valves are designed on the three-way HDI (high density interface) valve platform and require only momentary (10ms) pulses of current to switch the state.
They consume only 2.8mW per switch and the polarity of voltage to the terminals controls the switched position. Measuring just 28.5mm long and 7mm in diameter, these valves are available in a flexible plug-in configuration, so they are ideal for compact manifold applications. A one place ported adapter for use with 0.0625in tubing is available, in addition to a variety of standard manifolds. The valves, which can be supplied in 5 and 12V options and with other voltages available on request, have a flow capacity of 6slpm and a pressure range of 0-15psig.
