Work by leading flow control specialist FCX Pegler & Louden has helped secure one of the engineering industry’s top awards – the ECI ACTIVE Award Project of the Year 2001-2002. The Nottingham-based company worked on US company Genzyme’s major new LSP1 pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Haverhill as a sub contractor to EPCM contractor CEL International, which provided project management, engineering, design and construction management services on the project and which is celebrating its second award in two years from the project. ECI ACTIVE is an industry-led supply chain initiative, designed to benefit engineering construction projects in the UK through the implementation of better, safer, more efficient working practices. Commercially, it is designed to enhance the competitiveness of the UK as a site for process plant projects for industries including onshore oil and gas, chemicals, petro-chemicals, pharmaceuticals and utilities.
