FCx wins petrochemical order

FCx Ubel & Ventil is celebrating its 80th anniversary in style following the announcement of a major multi-million Euro order for flow control solutions and products for Lyondell’s new USD1 billion petrochemical plant. The Lyondell PO-11 project is a grassroots petrochemical facility designed to produce 285,000 tonnes per year of propylene oxide (PO) and 640,000 tonnes per year of styrene monomer (SM), utilising Lyondell’s proprietary PO/SM technology. The facility will also produce its own feedstock of 725,000 tonnes/year of ethyl benzene (EB) using UOP/ABB Lummus technology. The studies to build the plant date back to the early nineties. The project was given the final go-ahead in 1999. Now, in partnership with sister company FCx Prometal, FCx Ubel & Ventil will supply an extensive range of globe, gate and check valves. This is in addition to flame arrestors, steamtraps and Alloy 20 valves already ordered for the project.
