Flowserve announces McCANNA TMBV

Flowserve Corporation is now offering a McCANNA TMBV, top-entry, wedge-seated trunnion mounted ball valve for the Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) industry. The McCANNA TMBV ball valve is used for preventing product contamination in PTA production, delivering reliable valve performance for high product purity.

This new trunnion mounted ball valve minimizes the effects of Paraxylene and caustic flushing in the oxidation reactor to keep the PTA process clean. The wedge seat design of the McCANNA ball valve permits the use of non-resilient seats with temperature limits and corrosion resistance beyond those of common seat materials, allowing the valve to deliver durable functionality under demanding conditions typical to PTA production. Key benefits of the McCANNA TMBV include: reliable performance at increased temperatures of 1000°F (538°C) through use of superior seat materials – Carbon Graphite 110, Waukesha 88 and Stellite for exceptional corrosion resistance and anti-galling; enhanced protection from fire hazards, exceeding API 607 fire testing requirements.

The McCANNA TMBV ball valve is built to withstand the high temperatures and corrosive environments of this evolving market.

Also suited for LNG, slurry service and applications requiring double block and bleed, the McCANNA valve family has proven highly reliable in IPA (Isopthalic Acid) and TMA (Trimelletic Anhydride) processes.
