Back in 2000, French cement producer Ciment d’Originy began to experience numerous problems with pinch valves at its plant in Dannes, France. Dome Valves from Clyde Materials Handling has since solved these difficulties. The continual erosion of existing pinch valves caused excessive production downtime and additional expense – the valves needed to be replaced every three or four months – and Ciment d’Originy decided they needed to seek a viable long-term solution. The company therefore purchased three 150mm Dome Valves for use in the cement manufacturing process. Since Ciment d’Originy installed, Clyde’s Dome Valves have required no maintenance. After three years of use under extreme conditions, the Dome Valves are still operating as effectively as when they were purchased.
