Garlock, an EnPro Industries company and leading manufacturer of high-performance fluid sealing and pipeline protection products, has announced the promotion of Michael Faulkner to President.

Faulkner’s career at Garlock stretches 13 years, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of GPT (a member of the Garlock family of companies). In his new role, he will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for the company. Faulkner will oversee global operations, enable customer driven product innovation and invest in the capabilities that will keep Garlock ahead of the competition. He will also be responsible for ongoing implementation of EnPro’s dual bottom line approach that places financial performance of the organization and human development of all employees on an equal footing.

“As a longtime employee of Garlock, I am excited to have the opportunity to continue my career within a company that I believe in deeply,” said Faulkner. “Garlock’s commitment to innovation is fundamental to its growth – I don’t consider this to be a manufacturing company, but rather an engineering company that builds what it develops.”

Faulkner will report to Marvin Riley, EnPro’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are pleased to announce Michael Faulkner as the new President of Garlock,” said Riley. “His diverse background and demonstrated leadership within the organization will provide him with a unique perspective on continuing recent growth and building Garlock’s service and solutions offerings to benefit the needs of our customers.”

Faulkner earned a Bachelor of Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from the William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester.

“In addition to maintaining a tradition of developing and selling the highest quality fluid sealing and pipeline protection products on the marketplace, Garlock is focused on enabling people, building communities and protecting the environment,” said Faulkner. “We grow by continuing to innovate our products, our processes and our business models. As we grow, our customers grow and realize the financial and societal benefits that come from cleaner, safer and more sustainable processes.”

Faulkner’s appointment to the position of President is currently effective. His predecessor, Eric Vaillancourt, has been named President of STEMCO, a sister EnPro company.
