IMI Precision extends range of flange valves

In the spring of 2017, IMI Precision Engineering will extend its range of IMI Buschjost flange valves. Developed in accordance with the current version of the Pressure Equipment Directive, 2014/68/EU, the larger DN 65, DN 80 and DN 100 valves have been redesigned and are now available as new series 86480, 86500 and 86540. The valves are suitable for use in many sectors, from general machine and plant construction, through the chemical industry to building and power-plant technology.

Based on the force-lifted piston principle the new flange valves are equipped with proven labyrinth technology. Instead of a grooved ring, the labyrinth piston features floating fitted and slotted PTFE guide rings, which are particularly low-wear and long-lasting as well as insensitive to high temperatures and pressure surges against the flow direction. In comparison to the previous model, the new flange valves withstand – depending on the application – more than 200,000 switching cycles.

The IMI Buschjost flange valves have an improved position indicator. It is 50% smaller and features a single sensor for both the ‘open’ and ‘closed’ switch positions. In addition, it is programmable making operation significantly easier, reducing operating errors to almost zero.
