Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has won a contract from DSM Elastomers Americas to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services for the Horizon 2020 plant modernisation at DSM’s plant in Addis, Louisiana. Officials did not disclose the contract value. DSM Elastomers is the leading global supplier of ethylene-propylene-based synthetic rubbers and their derivatives (EPDM; KELTAN, EPsyn) sourced from manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands, the USA, Brazil, and Japan. Its total production capacity is 215,000 tons per year. As part of a global expansion of its EPDM business segments, final preparations are under way for an 80,000 ton per year EPDM facility in the Netherlands. The expansion in Addis, Louisiana, will also increase capacity while also modernising operations to improve plant reliability for the production of EPDM.
