Severn Glocon, the British control valve specialist, has received a further contract for customised 4000 series “extended body” valves for use at the Korea Gas Corporation LNG terminal at Inchon. These cryogenic globe control valves are required for the latest expansion to incorporate additional storage tanks 13 and 14. Fourteen Severn Glocon Series 4000 globe control valves, in 3”, 6” and 8” sizes, will control the flow of liquefied natural gas at a temperature of –162° C. The valves are all equipped with Severn Glocon pneumatic piston actuators, explosion-proof positioners, manual override handwheels and in some cases, anti-cavitation trims. The mandatory cryogenic testing will take place in Severn Glocon’s manufacturing facility located at Gloucester accompanied by extensive third party inspection of all testing and documentation. Severn Glocon has been supplying similar valves to Kogas for over eight years and throughout this time Severn Glocon’s agent in Seoul, Geum Gang E & I Co. Ltd, has provided local support and technical services.
