Maersk Drilling acquires contract for jack-up rig

Maersk Drilling has been granted a new contract for the jack-up rig Maersk Resilient with Danish oil company Maersk Oil. The firm contract is for 3yrs with a projected contract value of USD 110M. Commencement is expected to be in the year 2015, and Maersk Resilient will do work at various fields in the Danish sector of the North Sea.

Maersk Resilient has been stacked at Invergordon in Scotland since May 2015, where the rig has undergone various maintenance work. The Maersk Resilient is the first in a series of four identical high efficiency jack-ups. The rig is fully equipped for high pressure/high temperature (HP/HT) drilling and is designed for year-round operation in the North Sea, in water depths up to 107m (350ft.) with an available leg length below hull of 148m (485ft.). The rig can accommodate 120 people. Maersk Drilling’s modern fleet counts 22 drilling rigs including drill ships, deep-water semi-submersibles and high-end jack-up rigs.
