Metso launches new high-pressure ball valve

Metso’s new Neles® XH series high-pressure ball valves have been designed specifically for multiple high-pressure applications. The new XH series is now ready to meet these requirements in higher pressure classes of ASME 900 / EN PN 160.

The XH series fulfills requirements for low fugitive emissions (ISO 15848), functional safety (IEC 61508-2:2010, SIL 3) and fire safety (API 607) standards while still providing all the traditional benefits of Neles® ball valves. Advantages include low total cost of ownership due to less need for servicing, high production yield due to long lasting high tightness, lower energy loss due to valve high capacity, and general trouble-free operation in both shut-off and throttling applications.

The XH is being utilised in coal gasification processes, including solids handling, oxygen service and more, in high pressure control service in pipelines equipped with Neles® Q-Trim technology noise attenuation trim, and in demanding high-cycle applications.

The XH can handle temperatures ranging from -50°C to +600°C. Body material options start from a forged carbon steel and extend to fully Ni-based high-grade alloys used in oxygen service. All wetted internals are high-grade stainless steel as standard, as in all traditional Neles® designs.
